Parking Cost Calculator
Parking fees add up fast, especially on multi-day trips, at airports, or in city centers where a daily rate cap kicks in after a few hours. This calculator estimates your total parking cost from an hourly rate, an optional daily cap, the number of days, and any discount or validation you have, so you can budget a trip or compare parking options before you park.
What It Calculates
- Total Parking Cost — the full amount you'll pay across all days, after any discount
- Average Cost Per Day — the total cost divided evenly across the days you parked
- Cost Breakdown — a line-by-line table showing the uncapped daily cost, whether the daily cap kicked in, the subtotal, the discount applied, and the final total
Formula
Most paid parking charges by the hour up to a daily maximum. The effective cost for one day is the lower of the hourly total and that cap:
If there's no daily cap, set it to 0 and the calculator simply uses the hourly total. The total across all days, after any discount, is:
How to Use
- Enter the Hourly Parking Rate charged at your parking facility.
- Enter the Daily Maximum Rate (the cap for a full day). Leave it at 0 if the facility doesn't cap daily charges.
- Enter the Hours Parked Per Day you expect to stay.
- Enter the Number of Days you'll be parked.
- Enter any Discount / Validation percentage you qualify for (loyalty programs, early-bird rates, or a store validation stamp). Leave it at 0 if none applies.
- Tap Calculate Parking Cost to see your total cost, average daily cost, and a full breakdown.
Worked Example
Suppose a mall charges ₹30/hour with a ₹200 daily cap, you're shopping for 9 hours a day over 5 days, and you have a 10% validation discount:
- Uncapped hourly total: ₹30 × 9 = ₹270/day
- Since ₹270 exceeds the ₹200 cap, the effective daily cost is ₹200
- Subtotal: ₹200 × 5 days = ₹1,000
- Discount: 10% of ₹1,000 = ₹100
- Total Parking Cost: ₹900
- Average Cost Per Day: ₹180
- The daily cap alone saved you (₹270 − ₹200) × 5 = ₹350 compared to paying the uncapped hourly rate every day
Without the daily cap, five days at the uncapped hourly rate would have cost ₹1,350 before any discount — the cap and the discount together bring that down to ₹900.
